Who needs butter?




     I've been dairy free for about two years now. I am always looking for great alternatives to dairy foods and found another one. Displaying PhotoGrid_1462547148564_resized.jpgDisplaying PhotoGrid_1462547148564_resized.jpgAlong with the many other Gluten Free Substitutions, I have used this Spectrum Shortening a lot lately in place of butter. It is made from organic palm oil, which is the unrefined version of coconut oil. It is loaded with nutrients and can reduce inflammation.  It tastes great on breads and can be used in baked goods or in the pan for cooking. I recently used it in place of butter to cook gluten free pancakes. They came out so much better than using olive oil in the pan. Enjoy!
